Global Battery Metals Ltd is based in Vancouver, Canada was founded in 2005. The company changed its name in 2019 from Redzone Resources Ltd.[2]
Operations[edit]
Global Battery Metals Ltd owns many properties with significant mineral deposits. One of these properties is the Lara Property, a copper-molybdenum deposit located in Peru, near the Pan American Highway and 400 km south of Lima. The Lara Property contains three mineral concessions and covers approximately 1,800 hectares.[3]
Another property owned by Global Battery Metals Ltd is the North West Leinster Lithium Property, located in southeast Ireland. This property is focused on the exploration of lithium mineralization. This property, with over 15 prospecting licenses and called the North-west Leinster Block, is comprised of approximately 477.39 square kilomters. In addition to these properties, the company also owns the Lithium King Property, the Lapoile, Sawyer Camp and the Central.[3]
Projects[edit]
Lithium King (Lithium Project)[edit]
This project is situated 170km West of Salt Lake City along Highway 80. The company has a project located within the limits of the paleo Lake Bonneville. This lake was the largest Late Pleistocene paleolake in the Great Basin of western North America, was formed as a result of cooler temperatures leading to an increase in precipitation and a decrease in evaporation. During its highest level, Lake Bonneville covered much of western Utah and extended into present-day Idaho and Nevada. Prior to the formation of Lake Bonneville, there was a pluvial lake known as the Western Interior Seaway.[4]
Leinster Lithium Project[edit]
The North West Leinster Project is focused on the exploration for lithium in the north of the Leinster Massif in south-east Ireland. This project area is covered by 15 prospecting licenses, known as the North-west Leinster Block, which have a total area of 477.39 km2. These prospecting licenses were granted to LRH Resources Limited in October 2018 and are valid for a period of six years from that date. The focus of the project is on the exploration of spodumene pegmatites, which are a type of lithium mineralization.[4]
Global Battery Metals Ltd (GBML) has received a drill permit for its North-West Leinster Lithium Project in Ireland. The drill program will focus on testing the lithium potential of the project's most promising targets, which were identified during previous exploration work. GBML plans to drill up to 12 holes, with a total length of approximately 1,200 meters, and will use a combination of diamond core and reverse circulation drilling techniques. The company's CEO, Michael Murphy, commented that the receipt of the drill permit is a significant milestone for GBML, and the company is excited to commence drilling at the North-West Leinster Lithium Project. He also stated that the company's objective is to define a significant lithium resource at the project that can support the development of a mine.[5]
Lara Property, Peru[edit]
The Lara Property is a mineral property owned by Global Battery Metals Ltd, located at moderate elevation in Peru, approximately 40 km from the Pan American Highway and 400 km south of Lima. It consists of three mineral concessions covering an area of 1,800 hectares.[4]
In 2010, Redzone, the company that later became Global Battery Metals Ltd, acquired the right to earn up to a 75% interest in the Lara Property through an option agreement with Lara Exploration Ltd. Under the terms of this agreement, Redzone agreed to spend $2.5 million on exploration activities on the property and issue 850,000 Redzone common shares to Lara over a three-year period in order to earn an initial 55% interest in the property.[4]

Possible Source Identification at North-West Leinster Lithium Project[edit]
Global Battery Metals Ltd has announced that it has completed a geochemical characterization survey on the Knockeen-Carriglead prospect at its North-West Leinster Lithium Project. This prospect may be the source of the six surface samples that were previously reported to have returned values of lithium oxide (Li2O) ranging from 0.70% to 2.95%.[6]
Initiates Field Exploration Program on North-West Leinster Lithium Project[edit]
Global Battery Metals Ltd, an international mineral exploration and development company, has announced that field exploration work has begun on its North-West Leinster Lithium Project. The focus of this work is on the Prospecting License Area (PLA) 1597.[7]
