Introduction[edit]

Cryomass Technologies Inc (OTC: CRYM) is a company that specializes in developing and commercializing innovative technologies for the production of biofuels and other bio-based products. Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, the company sells and commercializes a cryo-mechanical system designed for the handling of high-value plants such as harvested hemp and cannabis in the United States. The company, previously known as Andina Gold Corp, changed its name to Cryomass Technologies Inc in August 2021. Cryomass Technologies Inc was established in 2011.[1] Cryomass Technologies Inc is actively working with partners in the bioenergy and chemical industries to develop and commercialize its Cryo-grinding technology. The company has also received funding from government organizations to support its research and development efforts.

Technology & Patents[edit]

Technology[edit]

Cryomass Technologies Inc's core technology is called "Cryo-grinding", which is a patented process that uses cryogenic temperatures to convert lignocellulosic biomass (such as wood chips, straw, or agricultural waste) into a fine powder. This powder can then be used as a feedstock for the production of biofuels, chemicals, and other bioproducts. The company owns patented technology that utilizes liquid nitrogen to fully separate, collect and protect the high-value materials and essential compounds from the harvested plant. Additionally, it is looking into how the underlying technology may be used to a variety of sectors that deal with expensive materials and could gain from the use of precise capture techniques.[2]

CryoCann 500 CF[edit]

CryoCann 500 CF is the Company’s refinement system. Its monitoring and control systems include data loggers, flow control systems, security systems, remote monitoring and control systems, and security systems for controlling the composition of the atmosphere. Centrifugal pumps and automated proportional valves are part of its flow control system.[3]

The company's technical team has finished an early design for the CryoCann 500 CF system based on that technology. The CryoCann 500 CF is designed to quickly catch totally intact hemp and cannabis trichomes as well as terpenes (within minutes of plant harvesting). Rapid capture should make it possible for hemp and cannabis growers to drastically cut expenses, boost end-product yields, and improve product purity. The resulting sift can either be further processed into consumer goods or stored in a warehouse for a long time.[3]

Trichome Separator[edit]

According to a press release from August 2022, Cryomass is preparing to launch a new product called the Trichome Separator, which it believes is a revolutionary device designed for the efficient separation of trichomes from harvested cannabis and hemp plants. Trichomes are small, glandular structures on the surface of the plant that contain high levels of cannabinoids, terpenes, and other valuable compounds. The Trichome Separator is based on Cryomass Technologies' proprietary cryo-mechanical technology, which uses ultra-low temperatures and mechanical force to separate trichomes from the plant material. The technology is said to be faster, more efficient, and more cost-effective than traditional methods of trichome separation, which often involve manual labor and solvent-based extraction. Cryomass Technologies is reportedly finalizing the design of the Trichome Separator and plans to launch the product in the coming months. The company believes that the Trichome Separator will be a game-changer for the cannabis and hemp industries, providing a safer and more sustainable way to extract valuable plant compounds.[4]

Commercialization[edit]

CryoMass Technologies Inc has signed a multi-state license agreement worth $10.2 million for the use of its cryo-grinding technology in the production of biofuels and other bioproducts. The license agreement covers several states in the United States and involves the deployment of multiple cryo-grinding units at various production facilities. The license agreement is a significant milestone for CryoMass Technologies, as it represents a major commercialization opportunity for its cryo-grinding technology. The company believes that the deployment of its technology in multiple production facilities across several states will help to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable and renewable economy.[5] The first sale of a CryoSift Separators unit was announced in May, 2024.[6]

Partnerships[edit]

CRYM Co-Invest GP[edit]

The company has an agreement with CRYM Co-Invest GP to allow the purchase and subsequent leasing of five CryoSift Separator units. This will enable customers to acquire the units without a large up-front capital outlay.[7]
