Xebec Adsorption Inc. Designs, manufactures, and sells purification, separation, dehydration, and filtration equipment for gases and compressed air in Canada, the United States, China, Korea, Italy, France, and internationally. It operates in three segments: Systems, Infrastructure, and Support. The company offers on-site air dehydration under the ADX Solutions brand; biogas to renewable natural gas systems under the BGX Solutions brand; hydrogen purification systems under the H2X Solutions brand; natural gas dehydration units for refueling stations under the NGX Solutions brand; and products for the filtration and separation of air and gases under FSX Solutions brand. It also provides steam methane reforming products for production of hydrogen from natural gas under the Hy.GEN brand; electrolysis products for production of hydrogen from electricity under the Hy.GEN-e brand; on-site oxygen and nitrogen generators; compressed air and gas dryers and filters; and spare parts and replacement filter elements; dew-point probes and calibration services. Xebec Adsorption Inc. was founded in 1967 and is headquartered in Blainville, Canada.

Xebec Adsorption Inc. (OTC: XEBEF, TSX: XBC) is a Specialty industrial machinery company that designs, manufactures, and sells purification, dehydration, separation, and filtration equipment for gases and compressed air in Canada, the United States, China, Korea, Italy, France, and internationally. It was formed in 1967 and has its headquarters in Blainville, Canada.[1]

Xebec provides on-site air dehydration under the ADX Solutions brand; biogas to renewable natural gas systems under the BGX Solutions brand; hydrogen purification systems under the H2X Solutions brand; natural gas dehydration units for refueling stations under the NGX Solutions brand; and products for the filtration and separation of air and gases under FSX Solutions brand. The company also offers steam methane reforming products for the production of hydrogen from natural gas under the Hy.GEN brand; electrolysis products for the production of hydrogen from electricity under the Hy.GEN-e brand; on-site oxygen and nitrogen generators; industrial process chillers; fluid savers and pumping stations; compressed air and gas dryers and filters; and spare parts and replacement filter elements; dew-point probes and calibration services.[2]

Xebec’s segments include Systems (Cleantech) and Support (Industrial Air and Gas Products, Parts, Service, and Operational Support). The firm helps clients reduce their carbon footprint and operating costs.[3]

The company announced a change in its executive on February 8, 2022, with Kurt Sorschak retiring and being replaced by Jim Vounassis as Xebec’s president and CEO effective May 12, 2022. Mike Munro, the company’s VP of Global Operations will spontaneously assume the COO role. Mr. Vounassis has a great track record with global and complex institutions in realizing their transformational goals and visions. Mr. Munro holds robust experience in business development, operation, and strategic planning.[4]

Business Plans and Achievements

Xebec Adsorption Inc. aims at supplying industrial hydrogen and nitrogen gas in bulk quantities. The company combines advanced on-site generation with conventional gas distribution methods, Hygear to avail a more cost-effective and reliable gas supply. Xebec also works to develop models to accelerate the development of projects that produce low-carbon renewable gases.[5]

On March 9, 2022, the company further rolled out its strategy to become a world powerhouse, which included Capitalizing on large addressable markets, adding U.S. renewable natural gas manufacturing and sales base, going global with hydrogen business, expanding our Pressure Swing Adsorption (“PSA”) and compression technologies for Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (“CCUS”), and building on strong partnerships.[6]

The company made a couple of massive deals last year. On May 26, 2021, HyGear, Xebec Adsorption’s fully owned subsidiary, inked a deal a 1.5-year contract for on-site generation and supply of 130K kg of hydrogen to a fueling station in the Netherlands. This marked the company’s second deal in the country.[7]

HyGear later on June 9, signed a 10-year hydrogen recycling gas as a service contract with one of the world’s largest glass manufacturers. The pay-per-use contract was valued at ~$1.6M in total revenues over the 10-year agreement.[8]

On June 14, Xebec closed the acquisition of U.K.-based Tiger Filtration for a total of C$20.6 million. The acquisition was deemed to provide Xebec with a profitable and recurring aftermarket manufacturing business for elements and filters.[9]

On November 9, 2021, the company announced the acquisition of Colorado-based UECompression to Establish North America’s Leading Renewable Natural Gas and Hydrogen Manufacturing Facility.[10]

The company recently announced that Xebec System USA, its unit penned a $113.5M deal with Iowa-based SCS Carbon Removal, a Summit Carbon Solutions subsidiary. The equipment will be employed in Summit Carbon's proposed carbon capture and sequestration project.[11]
